1. Who we are

These terms are between you and MKSK Consulting Ltd, which provides the FirstLook Websites service. Our company number is 10833905. Our registered office is 32 Garsington Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 2LG, United Kingdom.

2. The free preview

The preview is free of charge and carries no obligation. We design a preview of a website for your business, normally within 48 hours of receiving your details, and send you a link to it.

You are under no obligation to proceed, and you will not be charged anything for receiving or reviewing the preview. If you decide not to go ahead, nothing further is owed by either side.

The preview is a design proposal. It is not a finished website, and it may use placeholder images or sample text where we do not yet have your material.

3. The price and how you pay

If you decide to go ahead, the price for your website is $999 , fixed, as a one-off payment. We will not ask you for more than this for the work described in your preview.

You pay it in two parts:

• $500 (50%) when you approve your preview and tell us to proceed.
• $499 (50%) when your website is delivered.

Prices shown are exclusive of any applicable state or local sales tax, which will be added where it applies and shown clearly before you pay.

4. Revisions

Up to 2 rounds of changes are included in the price. A "round" is a single set of change requests you send us after reviewing an updated design.

We will always tell you if something you have asked for falls outside what was agreed — for example a completely new design direction, additional pages, or a request to build a shop. We will quote for that separately before doing any work, and you are free to say no.

5. Timelines

We aim to send your preview within 48 hours, and to have your website live within 7 days of your approval.

These timescales assume we receive your content and your feedback promptly. They are estimates rather than guarantees, and they are extended by any delay in hearing back from you.

6. What counts as delivery

Your website is delivered when it is live at your domain and available to the public, and we have told you it is ready. At that point the balance becomes payable.

If you ask us to hold the website back — for example to wait for a launch date — delivery is treated as having happened when the site is technically complete and ready to publish, and the balance becomes payable then.

7. The optional monthly plan

Once your website is live, you may choose our optional hosting, domain name and ongoing support plan for $45 per month. You do not have to take this plan: you can take the finished site design and arrange hosting elsewhere. We will either deploy the finished site to hosting of your choice or hand over all agreed site files. Your domain remains yours. This covers:

• hosting, SSL certificate and daily backups;
• renewal of your domain name;
• security updates and uptime monitoring;
• delivery of enquiries from your website to your inbox;
• keeping your Google reviews current on your site; and
• small content changes on request.

Minimum term and cancellation: the plan is rolling monthly with no minimum term. You can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice.

Small changes allowance: we are finalising the fair-use allowance for small changes. Until it is confirmed, we will agree what is reasonable with you in practice and tell you before charging for anything beyond it.

8. Ownership

This section is still being finalised. Our intention is that the custom design and content we create for you belong to you once you have paid in full, and that we will tell you exactly what happens to the site and the domain if you later stop the monthly plan. We will confirm the final wording in writing before you commit, and it will be published on this page.

In the meantime, if ownership matters to your decision, ask us and we will answer in writing before you pay anything.

9. If you change your mind

Before you approve the preview: you owe nothing, and there is nothing to cancel.

After you have paid the deposit: you can cancel at any time. We will refund the deposit less the work already done on your build at the point you tell us. We will tell you what that amounts to before we charge anything.

After delivery: the balance is payable as agreed, because the work is complete and live.

10. What we need from you

You agree to give us accurate information about your business and to make sure anything you send us — your logo, your photographs, your text — is yours to use. We will not knowingly publish anything that infringes someone else's rights.

11. Our responsibilities

We will do the work with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee any particular position in Google search results, because no one can — what we do provide is a well-built site with proper foundations for search.

If something we have built does not work as described, tell us and we will fix it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your project is the one in place when you approve your preview, and we will tell you if anything changes before you pay.

Note for MKSK: draft terms for solicitor review, not legal advice. Sections 7 and 8 are deliberately left open because the underlying decisions (spec section 13, questions 3 and 5) have not been made yet. Everything numeric is generated from config/pricing.php, so the terms cannot drift out of step with the prices on the site.
