Who we are

MKSK Consulting Ltd ("we", "us") runs FirstLook Websites. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect

When you ask for a free preview, we collect:

• your name and your business name;
• the type of business you run and the town or city you work in;
• your phone number and email address;
• your current website address, if you gave us one;
• anything you told us in the notes box;
• how you heard about us, if you chose to tell us.

We also record when you gave us consent, and which version of this site you used (UK or US).

If a sales representative gave you a link that brought you here, we record which representative it was, so we know how you came to us.

Like almost every website, we record basic technical information when you load a page, including your IP address. We use this to keep the site working and to stop spam submissions.

Why we are allowed to use it

• Because you asked us to. When you submit the form you agree we can contact you about your preview. That is a specific, one-purpose consent.
• Because we have a legitimate interest. Keeping basic records, preventing spam, and protecting the security of the site.
• Because the law requires it. If you become a customer we must keep invoice and tax records, including your VAT number if you have one.

We do not add you to a mailing list. Ticking the box on our form means we can contact you about your website preview. It is not permission to send you marketing, and we will not treat it as such.

How long we keep it

• If you ask for a preview and we don't go on to work together, we keep your details for up to 24 months, then delete them.
• If you become a customer, we keep your records for up to 84 months, because tax law requires us to keep financial records.
• Messages you send through the contact form are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.

Who else sees it

We use other companies to run the service. They only see your information when they need it to do their job, and only on our instructions:

• Email delivery — to send your preview and our replies.
• Hosting — the servers this website and your website run on.
• Payment providers — if you become a customer and pay by card or online, the provider processes the payment. We never see or store your card details.
• Analytics — if we use an analytics tool, it is configured to avoid tracking you across other websites and does not identify you personally.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

If you are in the UK

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, and to object to our using it at all.

To do any of those things, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you are in the United States

We are a UK company and we handle your information as described in this policy. If you are a resident of a state with its own privacy law, you have equivalent rights to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its being sold or shared. We do not sell your information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

How we contact you

If you gave us your details, we may contact you about your preview by phone or email. If you tell us to stop, we stop, and we record that so nobody contacts you again by mistake.

Where we contact businesses by telephone for the first time, we screen numbers against the UK's Telephone Preference Service and Corporate Telephone Preference Service registers, and we do not call numbers registered on them.

Cookies

We use one cookie, and only to remember what you have done on the site while you are using it — for example, so a form you have half-filled is not lost. You can read the detail in our cookie policy.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
